Solar Panel Installation

About Solar Power & Its Benefits

Solar power is one of the most effective ways to take control of your energy, lower your bills, and reduce your impact on the planet. By converting sunlight into electricity, solar panels let you generate clean, renewable energy right from your roof — and with no moving parts, they’re built to last for decades with minimal upkeep.

The benefits of installing solar on your home include:

  • Lowering your energy bills by producing your own electricity.

  • Reducing your carbon footprint and reliance on fossil fuels.

  • Increasing the value and appeal of your property.

  • Protecting yourself from rising energy costs for years to come.

For added flexibility, we also offer finance options, making it easy to spread the cost of your investment over time.

Clean Energy, Expertly Installed by Certified Professionals

At Rose Roofing, we install in-roof solar panel systems that let you generate clean, renewable energy without compromising the look of your home. Unlike traditional panels that sit on top of your tiles, our in-roof systems replace a section of your roof covering and sit perfectly flush with the roofline. The result is a sleek, modern finish that enhances your home’s kerb appeal while saving you money on energy bills.

Our team are fully trained and certified through SIG, with specialist expertise in both the installation and technical understanding of solar systems. We manage the entire process for you, from assessing your roof and fitting the panels to arranging the MCS-certified electrician and commissioning the system, making the switch to solar effortless.

If your property has a flat roof, we can also install a tailored mounting system designed specifically for flat surfaces, ensuring optimal performance and a professional finish. Whatever your roof type, we’ll recommend the best solution to suit your home.

Is Your Roof Solar Ready?

Because solar panels are designed to last 25–30 years (and often longer), it’s essential that your roof can support them for the long term. A tired or damaged roof underneath your panels can lead to problems later, requiring the panels to be removed to carry out repairs — which is costly and disruptive.

Before installation, we’ll carefully assess your roof and advise you if any work is recommended to ensure it’s in the right condition for your solar investment. If your roof is over 25 years old, or you’ve noticed issues like leaks, loose tiles, sagging areas, or moss and water damage, it may be worth replacing or refurbishing your roof at the same time as installing your solar panels.

Here are some questions to consider:

  • How old is your roof?

  • Have you experienced any leaks or water damage?

  • Are there visible signs of wear, such as cracked, broken, or missing tiles?

  • Does your roof look uneven, sagging, or bowed in areas?

  • Has moss or plant growth taken hold on the surface?

If you answered “yes” to any of these, don’t worry — we’ll guide you through the best options. Replacing your roof at the same time as your solar installation ensures your roof is secure, looks great, and lasts as long as your panels, avoiding unexpected costs and headaches down the line.

Our team will carry out a full roof inspection during your survey and explain your options clearly and honestly — so you can feel confident your home is ready for solar, both today and for decades to come.

Frequently Asked Solar Questions

Please reach us at info@roseroofing.co.uk if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Most systems are installed within a few days, including the electrical connection.

For solar panels alone, no — they’re usually permitted development. If we also replace your roof, we’ll handle the Building Control notification for you.

South-facing roofs are ideal, but east- and west-facing roofs still perform well. We’ll advise you on your expected output.

Very little. Keeping the panels clear of debris is usually enough to keep them efficient.

Most panels are designed to last 25–30 years, and many continue generating electricity even beyond that.

Yes. panels produce electricity all year round. While output is higher in summer, they still generate power during the winter months.

If your system produces more power than you use, the excess can often be fed back to the grid, depending on your electricity supplier and export arrangements. Alternatively, you can choose to add battery storage to your system, allowing you to store surplus energy for use later, such as at night or during higher-demand periods, giving you even greater independence from the grid.
